Tear Sheets

February 05, 2017

For the last year, I've learned a great deal about getting published.  If you submit for publication, you cannot share those images on any type of social media.  The magazines want to share the images first.  Most magazines won't publish images that have been previously been published.  Your images are also held to a very high standard.

When your images are published, it's an amazing feeling.  Editors who've seen perhaps thousands of other submissions select your work above others for a particular issue.  Your images will be viewed by people nationally or internationally depending upon the magazine's reach.  While you don't receive a free magazine, you are provided tear sheets of your images with the issues information printed on them.  When I receive tear sheets, it feels like my birthday.  Here are the tear sheets from my Desert Fairytale photo shoot with Yanellis Linares, the model, and Renalda Bly, our MUA.
